I liked the lack of using the Lord's name in vain and the lack of vivid descriptions of love scenes. Sometimes less can be more. It might could have had a bit more a ton, but I did enjoy reading the book and the story line.
This has been my best read book this year!This plot was amazing, I didn't see her as one from the ton! And his son!!Should be a sequel as to what has happened to the son as well as her land.Thank you Hannah Hamilton!
A well written set of stories that held my interest throughout, there is suspense, drama, danger, and romance. The stories flow smoothly from one page to the other.

I have purchased or ARC read the entire series as individual books and this is a great collection of Scottish romances. Here are my individual reviews:The Cursed Highlander“The Cursed Highlander†is the fourth story in Ms. Ferguson’s Lairds of Dunkeld series. WOW! There are not enough adjectives to describe what I thought of this story. If I could rate it 10 stars I would. It is a beautifully written love story with overtones of suspense and an attempted murder mystery to solve. The novel is expertly written and the storyline sheer perfection. The story is an exceptional read that I absolutely enjoyed and could not put down. This is Joanna MacConnaway and Dougal Blackheath’s love story. Joanna MacConnaway, the daughter of Broderick MacConnaway and Amabel du Mas, great-niece of Brien, Earl of Lochlann from book one in the series is all grown up. Brian has passed and Dougal Blackheath has inherited Lochlann Castle and is the new the Earl of Lochlann. There are a number of twists and turns I never saw coming as the two fall in love and work together to solve the mystery of Lochlann Castle. As always I love that she included an epilogue and characters from her past novels in the series. In my opinion this is the best of the best so far and I highly recommend the novel.The Highlander's Dilemma“The Highlander’s Dilemma†is the fifth story in Ms. Ferguson’s Lairds of Dunkeld series. I love her writing style and she knows how to create unique and detailed storylines that captivate and hold the readers interest. This story was a really good read that I enjoyed. Each story in the series is an expertly and beautifully written love story that challengers the hero and heroine. This is Leona MacConnaway and Conn MacNeil’s romance.. When Leona’s grandfather dies she is summoned to France and that is when the storyline gets interesting. While she gets to know her Uncle a friend of her uncle waits in the wings to marry Leona. A man Leona detests. While Leona contemplates her options, Conn travels to France and to her aid. I don’t like to give specific spoilers so let’s just say I could not put this story down. It makes for a captivating read. There are a few twists and turns and surprises. As always I love that she included an epilogue and characters from her past novels in the book. I would highly recommend the novel.The Highlander's AwakeningI have enjoyed reading all of Emilia's books in the Lairds of Dunkeld Series. This story is about Brodgar and Ettie and also secondary characters Alf and Ambeal. It's about love at first sight and surmounting obstacles to achieve that love.The story was well written with great characterization and filled with twists and turns that kept me totally engrossed in the story. It was another great read in an awesome series and a book I highly recommend.I love to read Scottish romances as you can see from my reviews of the books in this series, every book was well written and an enjoyable read that I highly recommend.
The Cursed HighlanderEmilia has another winner! I enjoyed reading this book. As in the first three books Emilia makes you feel like you are there. Her characters are well developed. Well written and thought out. There are challenges. There is danger, adventure, intrigue, romance. We have moved on to the next generation. Someone is trying to kill our hero, Who and why? Come along on this roller coaster and find out. The Highlanders DilemmaLeona and Conn's story is filled with excitement and adventure, Leona travels to France at her uncle's request. He arranges for her to marry a neighboring count in exchange for land. She decides she must escape. She is making her plans when Conn shows up at the door. She tells him what is happening and they plan on escaping together. The evil count puts a stop to their escape. What is going to happen now? Will Conn be able to save Leona? Will they both get back to Scotland? An excellent series and I recommend it. Each book can be read as a stand alone.I voluntarily received a copy of this book and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.The Highlanders AwakeningI love this story! All in this series are great reads and all can be read as stand alones or as part of the series. Emilia has written a powerful story about what can happened when two toddlers are promised to each other to stop the fighting between clans. What happens when the two grow up and each falls in love with someone else and they want to break the promise? Get a copy of this book and come along with Ettie, Brodgar, Ambeal and Alf as they plot and scheme. See the danger they get themselves in and how they have to save themselves. I recommend this series.
All 3 books can be read as stand-alones but I LOVED reading it in order. It definitely adds to the experience. I read all the books in this series.This author produces books that are all well-written and fast-paced with beautifully developed characters, you can't help but like.The Cursed HighlanderI love how this one takes us to the story of Amabel's daughter (Amabel is the heroine in the first book of this series).DilemmaI love how this story continues with some characters in the previous books.AwakeningI love this series. I met some of the characters early in the series and love being able to catch-up with them. I'm 'watching' their children find their other halves. I feel like I'm a part of their family.I received these books as gifts with the understanding that reviews were not being requested. I enjoyed these books and volunteered to leave these reviews.**In fact, I was not asked to leave a review for this boxed set. I enjoyed this series SO MUCH that I took it upon myself to look up my separate reviews of these books and made this review of the boxed set.**
