After reading Yasmin Newman's first cookbook "7000 Islands", I was excited to read her newest book -"The Desserts of New York".This is so much more than a cookbook - it is a "foodie"vacation in NewYork, which includes the brilliant history of each neighborhood via recipes and pictures. This book is SO slick... The vibrant colors, stunning photography, embossed black typography, color coated sections and curved cover corners make it coffee table worthy on the outside... but it's what's inside that's even sweeter (pun intended). Yasmin presents a unique snapshot into the NYC dessert culture. Although this book is categorized as a "cookbook", it goes so much deeper. Extremely well-written, thoughtfully executed and worth every penny.
